In this course, FL Studio expert Danny Cullen will show you how to sound like Fred Again… and will teach you how to produce a tune similar his track with Swedish House Mafia entitled "Turn On The Light”.
Introduction
Welcome! In this video, Danny shares a brief Introduction on what will be covered in the course as well as a preview of the finished track he’ll be producing.
Video 1 - Chords
First, Danny creates the main chords for the track using FL Studio’s Piano Roll, Xfer’s Serum, and native FL Studio effect plugins.
Video 2 - Pluck
In this video, Danny adds an introductory pluck sound using FL Studio’s Piano Roll, W. A. Production’s ImPerfect plugin, and native FL Studio effect plugins.
Video 3 - Mean Lead Leayers
In this video, Danny starts building the main lead for the track using the FL Studio Piano Roll, a few instances of W. A. Production’s ImPerfect and Xfer’s Serum, as well as FL Studio’s native effect plugins.
Video 4 - Lead
Now Danny finishes creating the main lead by adding additional layers with Serum and some more native FL Studio effects.
Video 5 - Build & FX
In this video, Danny puts together the build up of the track, adds transition FX, and does some creative editing and slicing using samples and FL Studio’s native effects.
Video 6 - Bass
Now we need to add some low end. In this video, Danny mixes a few layers of Serum to create the driving bass found in the tracks and adds some native FL Studio effects.
Video 7 - Kick
Of course, we’re still missing a very important thing — the kick! In this video, Danny adds a kick and sidechains elements to it to create the necessary pumping effect.
Video 8 - Percussion
Every good song needs ongoing movement and detail work, so in this video, Danny adds some creative percussion and automation to keep things interesting.
Video 9 - Volume Adjustments
Now that we have all our elements, Danny works on gain staging and leveling the different channels to improve the mix.
Video 10 - Mixing
In this video, Danny makes some final edits to the mixer volume levels and bass automation to get the mix sounding just right.
